Background

The Fairview Police Department is staffed with 28 officers. There are 8 officers on duty at the time of the gas release. According to the Emergency Response Plan, 8 additional personnel can be provided within an hour. The remaining contingent would be in reserve for the next shift. There are mutual aid agreements for additional law enforcement personnel from other agencies and communities.


Background

The Fire Department is made up of three stations with 2 engines at each station. There is also a rescue unit at station 1, a chief and a ladder truck at station 2 and an ambulance at station 3. The total manpower is 100 personnel with 30 on duty.

Additional response from a mutual aid system which could bring 50 additional responders in 30 min and at least 100 in 1 hr.
